Goddess of the Ocean Forget me Now

by Scott E Buttross   Jun 8, 2004

Goddess of the ocean forget me now
You have washed ashore
The sandy beach.
Grew legs with sensitive feet
To walk among with mortal men
Your footprints splashed with ocean sand
One day for you to return with heart of man
His soul captured in your memories hand.

Take this shape of tailfin forever
Leave this scattered boy a treasure
Of the ocean so blue.
A halo he visioned
with faith guided you,
stars fall from his eyes
and wishes on every hour.
Ocean gave birth to her endless power.

Body had joined with his spirit on land.
It leaped into the oceans surf
He stood on the docks and watched as his
Spirit darted through
Waters unknown to man.
When would she return.

Taken by deep waters
In absence she found
The place her father now sleeps.
Startled, she released her hand
Still holding onto my soul by a finger
To return to the ocean without man.
