As You Leave Me Behind

by malina   Nov 28, 2008

You're back becomes smaller and smaller
And as your body slowly vanishes into air
I stand dumbfounded, not knowing when to let go
As I silently stand here

Yet, not one word that I yell
Do you turn back again to look at the pitiful me
Like a crazy person
The tears fall and into my hands they seep

I fall helplessly onto the cold floor
With your name endlessly at the tip of my tongue
One shout after another
I can't seem to give up, even if you're gone

Somehow I found belief in your hands
That use to slip perfectly into mines
Those two same fingers that use to belong to me
That gently wiped away my useless tears

The one who picked me up again and again
Whenever I would've unknowingly fallen
Yet now i stand firmly with you in my eyes
And I cry once again

As a speck in the distance, you move farther away
Are you crying now too or does a smile come across your face when you hear my voice?
A thousands questions race through my head
To see you turn back and moving on without a choice
