What's Left of My Sunrise

by Mathew Fouts   Dec 20, 2008

Does the sun still rise when I'm not there?
Does it look the same as the ones we'd share?
Do the visions illuminate the sky above?
With beauty and grace, the same as our Love?

Do the rays of light flow into your Heart?
Keeping it warm inside even though were apart?
Do you realize its me, my Heart and my Soul,
that are keeping you warm in spite of the toll?
In spite of the way it drains me inside?
In spite of the times I've broke down and cried?

Do you realize for me that the sun doesn't rise?
Unless its the one that I see in your eyes.
For the dawn of every day was captured by your Love.
And now the sun is gone, leaving only clouds above.

Clouds so full of brokenness, the rain falls everyday
Flooding what once was your sunrise washing it away.
Till all the pain has been rained down upon my dreary eyes
For the sun has set upon our Love, and its time for our goodbyes
