The first night I met you...

by Brittany   Jun 9, 2004

I was meant to be at dinner,
but my plans had fallen through.
I was drinking at The Star,
the first night I met you.

I walked into the bar room,
I was looking all around.
It wasn't very long,
until your eyes I had found.

I waited for an hour,
For you to come and say hi.
I sighed as I waited a little longer,
Then I caught your eye & waved good-bye.

I was walking to the car,
Then I got this weird feeling in my tummy.
I turned back and walked up to you,
And gave my number, it was funny.

It was only ten minutes later,
When I got a message on my phone.
My heart was beating so fast,
I felt like I couldn’t breathe on my own.

After a few emails and messages,
we'd decided to get together.
We made ourselves clear,
saying this fling wouldn't b foreva.

We had a few good times,
and with them were some bad.
But never have I regretted our time,
in fact I've only ever been glad.

For if I knew back when we met,
how things between us worked out.
I still would have given you my number,
definately, without a doubt.

I'm so thankful I missed that dinner,
and for meeting you that night.
I'm so glad that we've stayed friends,
and everythings turned out alright.
