Something Missing

Something Missing

The stocking are hung
And the tree all lit
The Family all around
But something is missing

You're not here to exchange presents with
I always dreamt I'd bring you home to my family
You're with your family and your presents
My heart is broken

Four months later you think I'd be fine
I wanted to buy you gifts
Bring you home to meet my family
Things didn't go as planned

My heart is broke and cannot mend
A Christmas with smiles is out of the question
What I wanted was you back in my arms
But you don't get what you want and I miss you

You don't think we'll ever work
This Christmas would have been perfect
The laughs and smiles
But something is missing

You're missing from my life
You would have made this perfect
Made me smile made me laugh
But this Christmas has you missing

This could flow a lot better. A few rhyming ends in this would be nice too. It kind of jumped around a lot. You have good ideas, just try to put it all together in an order that makes sense. Keep writing, and just keep those tips in mind. :)
