Reflections

by Amber   Dec 27, 2008

Looking at my reflection,
What is there to see?
A smiling face
No, that can't be me.

My heart has been wounded,
You cut me so deep.
Seems like all I can do,
Is lay here and weep.

But despite all the hurt.
And the pain i've gone through,
I put on a fake smile.
And pretend I'm over you.

Reflections can lie.
They are so easy to fake.
Just one wrong move.
Can cause them to break.

I can pretend I'm happy
And smile for you.
That way when you see me,
You'll be happy to.

But I challenge you this,
Just look in my eyes.
Those are the only things
That will never tell lies.

If you look in my eyes,
You'll see whats in my soul,
Then maybe you'll see
That my heart is no longer whole.

Looking at my reflection
What is there to see?
A smiling face
Yeah, thats me.

Well, this is a great poem. I'd have to say it's well written. I liked how you re-wrote the first stanza into the last one. I don't think it belongs under 'cyber love' people aren't really looking for that under this catergory. But, it hit home for me. (: Great job.
