Never Met, Never Apart

by InvisiblyHeartless   Jan 1, 2009

Travel in my heart, my only soul
It may make me happy and whole
I'll carry you with me, in my heart
You'll be close to me, even apart
Never knowing you, I still can see
Not who you are, but what we'll be
True love, mates destined in blindness
The hurt, the pain, the kindness
What it takes, to finally feel this
Our lives in harmony, in simple bliss
Can't we be together, these times?
It's not meant that way, sometimes
Love will find it's; simple way
Through the light of the day
Or in our special case, the darkest night
It can sing to stars, jump from a height
You've always been with me
Inside my heart, true love's beauty
We're to find the way to claim it
To make it ours, love's personal fit
Always with me, never apart
You've stayed, present, in my heart

Why no one - especially other club members - haven't commented on this, I don't know. This is a really nice poem with (for the most part) good metre and subtle rhymes.

"You've always been with me"... That's the line I'm not so sure about. If you use the full English of "You have always been with me" it seems to flow with the following line much more easily without taking on a formal tone.

A very warm and pleasing read after a tough week. :-)
