The Staircase Down (Shape Poetry)

by Amanda   Jan 3, 2009

You left me
Broken and bounded
Alone, just alone and hurt
For pillows to drench my tears
Alone, indeed I lay sobbing like a
Baby just out the wound, bounded and
Left behind. Confused, broken and lonely
Lonely for love, not any love. But the love you
Once given to me. The one I once felt, deep within
Now is just a mere darkness that has filled my heart for
All I feel is hate and love, which you have caused the day
You walked out my life; took the short cut through my heart
Broke it. Without anesthesia. The lies, the hurt, the pain, the cut
No reason, no shame, no you, no me, no us, just the staircase down

*Shape poetry are poems whose shape refers to their subject. For instance, I am referring to falling love so the stairs facing downward represents that.
