He Slipped Away From Me

by Alicia   Jan 3, 2009

The anger rages in my heart.
The tears begin to fill my eyes.
My life has been torn apart.
Overflowing with all your lies.

My stomach churns with acid.
And my hands begin to shake.
You expect me to be placid?
This is your biggest mistake!

I look at you real level.
To tell you how I feel.
"Six days is not enough to fall,
"This love, it is not real."

Your mouth opens quickly.
And excuses start to flow.
I can't help but feel sickly.
I sigh and turn to go.

Your lies are coming faster now.
I pause to listen still.
But this I just cannot allow.
My tears have come to spill.

I hope your life is happy.
I hope you love her true.
I hope you don't think me crappy.
Just because I love you too.

But marriage is just extreme.
You are just too young for it.
I'm not trying to ruin your dream.
But you didn't have to fully commit.

You've found your love.
I'm left alone once more.
One day I'll fine my belove.
And it won't be this much of a chore.

I'm letting you live your life.
I'm here if you need me.
But when it ends all in strife.
Maybe, finally, then you'll see
