Thoughts

by Emily   Jan 10, 2009

Glimmer of water,
Shimmer of sky,
Rapidly soaring as clouds drift by,
Though thus suspended I am far from free...
As my mind insists this love can't be,
Grounded by him as the earth drops away,
Black night consuming gold remnants of day.

Pining of my heart,
Shining through my eyes,
Pale moon traverses lonely skies,
My trust in him a fragile, frayed thread,
Though I want to believe all that he's said,
Lulled to sleep by the aircrafts humming roar,
Feeling drowsy I'll think on him no more...

Softly the plane wakes,
Gently the dawn breaks,
Golden light high above fitful skies,
Peacefulness free from confusion and lies,
God is in control and holding me near,
Following Him I have nothing to fear.

Glimmer of water,
Shimmer of sky,
Drifting to earth,
Fears kissed goodbye...
