Glimmer of Hope, Ray of Light

by Jordan W   Jan 10, 2009

This agony in my heart
This ache in my gut
This nerve numbing pain
All because of you
All because of the need I have
This overbearing needs that demands
Oh so demands that I hold you tight in my arms
This demand that I stare into your eyes
This demand that I give all that I am to you
All this pain because I cannot see you
All this pain because I cannot feel you
Why must this always be so?
Why must you always be so far from me?
Every time I watch the sun drop to the horizon
I imagine you reaching out through that last glimpse of light
That last glimmer of hope that I might hold you tight
My soul's arms reach into that light
My mind's eye sees into that last glimmer
And in that moment I see your face
I feel your touch
I know one day soon we shall love each other close
I know one day that this failing hope will bloom anew
Until that day though I sit and stare
Into my dying hope
Into the last light in my life.
