This Angel Named Juliet

by Jordan W   Jan 10, 2009

This halo that sits upon my head
So unjustly placed
For I am no angel with wings of white
I have a twisted soul as black as pitch
And this halo is all that keeps me mortal
All that keeps me sane
Let not this angel bestowed upon me leave
Let not this god given grace lift from my soul
Let this blessing continue forever
Let this love survive
Turn me not back into the demon from whence I came
Turn me not back into the black abysmal thing I left behind
Leave this halo I so unjustly deserve
Leave this beautiful angel to guide my soul
Leave this if nothing else for me to hold strong to
Leave me Juliet
For she is the only thing that keeps this heart beating
She is the only one who looks upon this tattered soul and sees only me
She is the only one who can shed some light on my soul of pitch
She is the only one I Love.

With this one, I'm not to sure I liked the way you started it, you just kind of jumped right into the poem, kind hard to grasp. Again, structure and punctuation could've made this poem a bit better. Overall it was average.
