Suns lesson

by coverd in darkness   Jan 28, 2009

Beautiful summer sun shines down,
It'll turn into the demon in time just wait you shall see,
What damage can been done,
During a time meant to be fun.

It blisters and it burns,
Trip away becomes disaster,
Lesson soon to be learned,
If only she had found out faster.

Only going back and forth,
In a unfamiliar place,
Yet days later still in agony,
As her face peels away.

The days get hotter,
She's struggling to breathe,
For the sun caused torture,
A mistake she's paying for.

Never underestimate the damage it can do,
For next time it could be you,
Stuck in bed not aloud outside,
You can prevent all this in so little time.

* true poem i went away for a night came back got sun stroke days later I'm struggling to breathe and to eat not to mention the pain. Please always take the time to put on some sun cream*

Thanks for sharing it with us... i guess many would learn ...

wonderfully written...the pain you left and the discomfort you are suffering is captured well ...

"Stuck in bed not aloud outside,
You can prevent all this in so little time."

^^ thanks for the warning ;)

but a some places I think the flow was off

"It'll turn into the demon in time just wait you shall see,"

^^ may be you could trim this line a little ... it didnt match the overall structure... or try keping the syllable count same...

    a good read...
