I like how you portray the longing of ur soldier returing homing.I can feel the emotions running thru the poem as i read along. I like that the poem is penned down in free verse and not having to care about the rhymes the imaginary that you painted realli bring the poem to life. But however I feel that after creating this whole longing for ur soldier to come home...you end with this line

And I pray for Him to comfort those in my position,
Waiting for their soldier to return.

^^I feel that it would have sounded better if you just stick to :
Waiting for 'MY' soldier to return.

A very sad read, and yet it couldn't be more true. Emotions are well-expressed and u've created a strong imagery of the feelings of yourself and everyone else while their soldier departs... Good Job!

This was well written. i know somebody that recently got married to one of my friends that is a marine. this kinda makes me wanna call her up and see how she is feeling. i hope all goes well for him.
