Under The Influence (Life Situation)

by Taylor   Feb 6, 2009

If I can't be a girl friend, then I'll be a good friend
No one is perfect, but you should know your rights
After I heard I wouldn't let my tears descend
I'll be insomniatic for the rest of my nights
I'm not gonna let your life slowly come to an end
An emptiness I feel when I think of the sight
Cigarette in your hand, laughing with your friends
I wouldn't stand to let you fall into the light

I never stopped loving you, and I certainly still care
You've got your whole life ahead of you, don't waste it today
There's no way I'd survive, I'm already in despair
You're better than this, please keep it that way
I'm afraid to picture you breathing in the smoke-filled air
You're haunting me, there are words I just can't say
The beauty in your eyes looks like it's going bare
I'll find help for you, I won't let you drift away

I lost your love, and I'd be dead if I lost your life too
Being under the influence isn't a style, it's a curse
If your smile ever shows black, I wouldn't know what to do
Your days getting closer to be riding in the hearse
Put the weed down, this isn't something you have to go through
Your confusion would collide, your common sense would diverse
Babe, please don't do this, so many care about you
My life is already bad, but I will not stand for yours to ever be worse

***For anyone wondering, I just found out that my friend (whom I still love) is smoking. He's only 14 just like me, and I'm fearing for his life. He did fall under the influence because half of the people in my school do drugs and smoke, and I'd be lost if he ever got hurt or worse from it. This is a message to tell everyone to be smart and be yourself, don't do something just because everyone else is. I just hope he can stop before it gets worse..
