The Worms and The Boy (With a hankering for Jam and Bread)

by Joe Holland   Feb 21, 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen,
There will be no snapped verses tonight....
There will only be a boy looking for worms and putting them in a pygmy bucket,
just for the tender moment between the boy and the worms,
just so he can set them free.

The boy doesn't know it, but he is envious of the worms.
He wishes he was simple and loved by another.

The boys mother calls him inside, he is looking forward to the jam sandwich that no doubt awaits him inside.

The worms are set free, and they burrow home.
The worms are set free but they miss the boy.

The worms are set free
