Kissed

He kissed me in fear
he kissed me so quickly
then backed up and watched me
like he expected me to disapear

I smiled and threw my arms around him
pressed my cheek on his
whispered three words
I kissed him back and left him there

I walked away backwards
and he did too
I waved and he waves back
I got in the car and drove away

he watched me still
his eyes sad
suddenly I knew he loved me back
I knew he was the one

my mouth burned
my head swirled
and I realized how perfect this had become
I wanted him back

and I wanted to stop
run back
and land in his arms
and never ever leave
