Echoes of a Childish Memory

by Sarah   Mar 20, 2009

Words began to drift along these pages.
Tears are sketching a master piece of emotional childish dreams.
Laughter from another time echoing in my stream of memories.
Our voices and chitchats sound like a musical long played.

I can still see us in those khaki skirts and funny looking shirts.
I can hear them screaming our names,
asking for our attendance in English class.
Playing innocent foolish games,
as we ran on these school grounds.
Fooling around and mastering new tricks!
Enjoying the days, as they flew away.
We were still young, not realizing how life can take us apart.

Looking back on those days,
my heart sobs gently, as my face draws on a smile.
I am remembering what we used to be,
and realizing who we've become.

We're still us!
Those kids, who've messed around and laughed so hard, are still there.
Life happened, and we've learned how to grow up.
And no matter where it leads us,
We will never forget..
Who we are and who we once were.

Very sweet and lovely !! You have penned a beautiful poem about friendship and with your words allowed us to imagine what you and friends were like. It is really sad when friends have to go seperate ways but it is always a joy to the heart to remember those carefree fun and loved days.
    Excellent work, keep it up.
