Haunted Love

by Ana   Mar 31, 2009

Memories, they'll paint a tainted picture
Where his laughter is now your tears
What you once had are now your fears

The things you have lost
The things you have gained
The way the demon in you reigned

Wishing on stars that don't exist
Caught up in that distant bliss

You'll wait
For fate
And Eliminate
The hate
Erase the slate
For memories it may create
Or ways it may bait
Your mind's debate
On the perfect soul mate

So lost
So cold
And you'll grow old
To never see
Or even be
Or mournfully plea
For any possibility
Or any guarantee
To any degree

It's the truth
It's life, the only way
I'll beg you to stay
But you'll turn away
And I'll stray
In a disarray
To betray
Or delay
The feelings today
Set out on display
Like roses in a bouquet
Turning Grey
As they obey
And convey
Love's judgment day.

What a horror, a twist
Or a deed
To death's need
To feed
And mislead
The hearts that bleed
And burn
In a lifetime, they yearn
For love to return
To learn
That you must earn
The life that is granted

A meaning misplaced
And erased
A purpose, chased
And faced
In a taste
Of everyday waste

Wasted night and wasted morning
Gone and destroyed you remain
With nothing or no-one other than me
Who fits the size of the blame
