This Lovely Longing

by ImperfectBliss   Apr 4, 2009

I am laying upon the whispering snow

(Waiting for you to cover me with your rose-ridden blanket)

Wrapping my arms around the breathing earth

(Asking you to return to me, to save me)

My body feels so cold without you near

(I'm crying out, begging you to hold me)

The dreams that haunt me resound in my mind

(Your arms wrapped around me; my naked body gasping)

Every touch, every look I exchange with you clouds my mind

(It breaks me to think of you in another girl's arms)

I wish only to spend one more night with you

(Exchange with me just one more kiss, before I go mad)

Dizziness returns when I think of your hand

(The empty spaces between my fingers are meant to be filled with yours)

I'm crying out in sweet pain inside when I see your face

(I cannot seem to rid myself of this itching, this want....)

{----This lovely longing. }
