Why Do We

by Richard S   Apr 6, 2009

Why do we risk a broken heart,
When down that road we venture.
Why not heed the warnings,
And let the head do censure.

Why roll the dice in the casino of love,
And lay it all on the line?
Why insist on playing the odds,
And hope the tumor's benign.

Why take a chance on happiness,
When sadness is so profound.
Why put yourself out on a limb.
These questions do confound.

I guess it's the thought of striking it rich.
I guess it's the human condition.
I guess it's the REAL way to know,
We can be our OWN physician.
