Blame Ourselves

by Richard S   Apr 6, 2009

We play the fool so easily.
We do it all the time.
A role we fall back into.
Can it be a crime?

We put ourselves in jeopardy.
We put ourselves at bay.
We ask for all that love can give.
That's all we have to say.

We try to find the things we've lost,
Or never really had.
We try through desperation.
We try to be not sad.

Can we truly blame ourselves,
For going to that well.
Are we really foolish,
For seeking out that hell.
