Light (prequel to Savior)

by RemainingSilent   Apr 10, 2009

Starving scorching flames
Licked my flesh clean of sin.
Throat ached scream after scream
-Falling on deaf ears..
Did I really scream at all?

Fire burned me completely,
Eternally damned thee.
She appeared suddenly then,
Ghostly figure dainty and light.
Murmurs in my ear,
Voices in my head-she said to me
"You shall live."

Skin melted bloody and
Raw
She raised her hands
Fire blazed
Gluttonous, emaciated
Ceased.

I felt heat within me,
Fire swirling, whipping
Tamed.
Ashes lay all around me,
Thee lay untouched.
Beautiful, flaming
Eternal light.
