Shattered

by Richard S   Apr 12, 2009

When water works its snake like way,
Deep inside the rock,
And winter has its frigid say,
Ice does have its shock.

Can we blame the water,
For fractures unforeseen?
Can we blame the water?
Was there a vaccine?

When a heart does break and shatter,
What's to blame for that?
Is it the same matter?
Is it the same vat?

The vat of "just bad luck"?
Where circumstances are?
The sea of all that runs a muck?
Not our favoured star?

Or do we blame the fractured rock,
For letting moisture in?
Do we blame our heart of chalk,
For letting love begin?
