Don't Ask Why

by Brittany   Apr 13, 2009

I held it in for awhile,
though I wanted to cry.
I always knew I would miss you,
so I tried to close my eyes.
But that only made it longer,
The time wouldn't fly by.
But here you are,
back in my arms,
no need to ask you why.

There were so many things
that I wanted to say.
I chose to leave them unspoken,
because sadness can drive you away.
Though that only made it longer,
I knew I had to try,
'cause here you are,
back in my arms,
with no need to ask me why.

I held on to our memories,
Remembering not to forget.
In every one we are smiling,
Leaving behind shades of regret.
I couldn't wait any longer,
I was running out of lies.
Now here you are,
back in my arms,
and they don't need to ask us why.

'Cause all we know
is: from now on
we're never saying goodbye.

From now on
we are never
going to say goodbye.
