Walking Along the Wall

by xLeftxBehindx   May 5, 2009

Walking along the wall with nothing but the company of my shadow
Swift pace along the sidewalk with everyone around me and no one to walk with
Slight breeze cooling my face and sun warming my back are my only partners
Lightly stepping with my bag on my back from school and the book in my hands about a myth

I have people to talk to and joke with but only for a while
Having one good friend to talk to and to laugh
But as we walk others come in and steal her away
And now our friendship as a whole has been split in half

Yes we talk after school but it isn't the same as being with her
I have other friends but not like she, talking about everything big or small
Only having few times to see each other and wishing they last longer than time
Not usual to see us together outside of school, only sometimes at the mall

I have people to talk to and joke with but only for a while
Having one good friend to talk to and to laugh
But as we walk others come in and steal her away
And now our friendship as a whole has been split in half

After talking to her I walk along the same wall
Again having the company of my shadow, the sun, and the breeze
With the bag on my back I still walk swiftly and step lightly
Being left by my friend again I walk along to look back and see her smile with ease
