Sacrifice for a Soldier

by Miss Lovely   May 5, 2009

Searching...
Needing...
I'm unprotected
A piece of my soul is gone...
I'm alone
I'm starving for comfort
...Desperate to be smothered by your warmth

-You're gonna be a soldier
They're training you to kill
They're teaching you how to fight for your country
You'll be an amazing soldier...

I know it's a good thing
But what if I'm not strong enough?
What if I can't make it?
I'm half dead already...
I feel so alone...

I can't smother my fear
I can't escape from my horrible thoughts
War is not a game
If you go...Where does that leave me?

I'll suffer with worry...
depression...
loneliness...
fear...
I won't be able to sleep at night
I'll constantly have a tear stained face...

I'm already forgetting how to take care of myself
Life is already hard enough
What if I can't pull through?

My life would shatter
and I'd die if anything ever happened to you.

So many hard times
So much pain
I don't want to go through it again.
I don't want to hurt again

You'll be my soldier...
I'll worry.
I'll pretend to be tough.

I'll make the biggest sacrifice for you....
Because you're my soldier....
and I love you...
