What Makes Me Tick

by Sydney Huddy   May 13, 2009

Light it on fire and let it explode;
My heart's a ticking bomb with this heavy load.
Admit you were wrong and lets move on;
I've finally found where my heart belongs.
Want nothing to do with me? Fine, that's okay;
I'll turn around when you walk my way.
No regrets; No guilt you'll see;
For once my heart feels completely free.
Never thought it would end like this;
Though I must tell you, it won't be missed.
Keep all your memories; Bad and good;
I'll bury mine deep like you knew I would.
I need you like a bullet to the head;
Don't think twice, it wasn't misread.
Yea I loved you, but now I see,
A part of you that you hid from me.
All it took was one more tick;
Another second had done the trick.
Tick-tick Boom went my heart, no doubt;
Just when I thought we figured this out.
One more thing before I go;
Spoken words of "I love you so."
I was never yours and I never will;
Ask permission? Please, I'm about to kill.
Over me, you have no right;
I'll date who I want, without you in sight.
No control; None what-so-ever.
Man up before you make this endeavor.
