Introspection

by Mimi   May 17, 2009

As the scattered facets of my existence
reveal themselves on a blank canvas,
The canvas of my mind uncovers a revelation.

Each graphite line further defines
the state of my being.
Each reflection on this feeling
Supports my wicked evaluation.

The thoughts and emotions, detatched at first,
sketched a vague idea of happiness.
But now, united, they vividly paint
the incapability of separation.

Stealthily it came; unanticipated: too strong, too fast,
Too much for this unsuspecting soul to resist.

And the consumption sinks in, sweet as sin,
creating a new unpredictable destiny of intractable gravitation.
