Cruising Through.

Push away the hair from your face,
Darling, you need to see with open eyes,
just exactly who I am and I am not afraid.

I want to show you the things you never knew,
kissing the stars all along the way,
chasing the lights radiated by your pretty face.

The one thing you never knew,
was that I lived for you and everything you were,
I never loved anything more.

When thoughts of you would cloud my mind,
my heart would relentlessly work towards yours,
pulling from the abyss and trying to reach the light.

Where were you when I needed someone to kiss,
were you feeling the way I did when I left,
because I burned the bridges I built with my own hands.

If there is only time for me to tell you one thing,
let it be known that I tried so hard,
to be everything you ever wanted and knew.

I want to be the dream you can't stop having,
I want to be the kiss you fantasize about,
and the person you miss more than anything,
I need to be by your side.

Why won't you let me, Why can't you see,
I want the same things you do,
It's not confusing - I am standing right in front of you.
Just reach out and grab me and I'll never leave you.

I could never leave you.
I would never leave you,
I will never leave your side.

I am holding back so much of who we used to be,
the couple that everyone envied,
everyone knew we were meant to be.
Two souls intertwined like threads that kept us so tight.
Don't burn what we have,
Don't throw it away,
don't hold back anymore.
