Dancing with Cinderella

Dancing with Cinderella

*in kenny's perspective

Oh, she twirls and sways
shes cried and shes weighed
a world of worries on weak shoulders...
she leaps and bounds
and has had ropes round
her ankles to pull boulders...
Oh, she flies and spins
and freedom finally wins
after toiling on dirty floors
of past days like stain-dressed Cinderella...

But now she's carries herself with grace
and all the worries of yesterday fall away
And I stare as she turns in her dress
And must confess, she looks beautiful.

I have been there, when love comes around
And held her, when it breaks her down.
But tonight she will glow,
and every man will know,
She's happy without any of them at all.
As happy as Cinderella at the ball.

So I will dance with this Cinderella...
For I know something all the princes never knew
Because they can kiss her and then forget her
But I'm the friend who won't break her heart in two.
So I will dance with Cinderella tonight
And won't let a man break her heart at midnight.

And we'll laugh and we'll sing
Spontaneously dancing to anything
And when she smiles I'll remember the friend
I ran through city streets with in the rain.

And we'll proudly walk up the royal carpet
With her arm in mine, gracefully guiding her
Before I let her go to sway on the dance floor
And running after her, while she laughs
and kicks off her glass slippers...

So I will dance with this Cinderella...
For I know something all the princes never knew
Because they can kiss her and then forget her
But I'm the boy who won't break her heart in two.

Yes...I will dance with Cinderella tonight
We'll twirl and sway to every song
Before the clock strikes midnight...and she's gone.
