She leans against his chest
looking at him in despair
wishing he understood
but he can't see how much she cares
he doesnt see his angel
waiting by his side
her halo broken and her face stained
from the countless tears she's cried
Her arms are scarred; her wings are torn
reminders of the pain she's borne
she stares into his eyes
begging him to stay
but he just calmly tells her it has to be this way
There's nothing else she can do
so she lets him go
and as she says goodbye
her tears start to overflow
she kisses him one last time
hoping someday he'll change his mind
But until that day comes, he will be
in all her thoughts, prayers, and dreams
she wont give up hope, she wont let go
until her love has come back home
