Thinking of Us

I thought about you today.
I thought a lot about you.
Held back the tears so well,
Like I have been for awhile.
Until i let my guard down for one second.
I didn't know that opened the flood gate,
From my heart to my eyes all the way down my cheeks.
So many of them too!
They just wouldn't stop.
The one thing I had left of you,
To prove everything was real,
Gone.
I didn't know or else I would have stopped it.
But I'm always thinking...
About you mostly.
Everyday i catch myself:
Watching the clouds,
Daydreaming about you...and me, us.
Happily in love like we used to be.
I cant seem to get over it.
Maybe thats Gods way of telling me,
You'll be back.
Like you promised,
With time, you'll be back.
