Happy Birthday, Lonely Girl

by Audrey Miller   Jul 19, 2009

Oh,
She doesn't realize
That her eyes are crying,
She's too numb.
And the day is dying.

The knife in her stomach,
Is twisting and turning.
The frosting is melting,
The candles are burning.

Oh,
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday...
Lonely girl.

She's sitting by herself,
Her friends should be around her.
But she's
Crazy...
But she's
Crazy...
And the insanity
Surrounds her

She doesn't understand,
Why they've been gone so long...
All she knows is she did
Something wrong...

Oh,
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday...
Lonely girl.

What was she
Supposed to do?
Choose happiness,
Over the truth?
She had been screwing up
From beginning to end,
And all she ever wanted
Was a friend...

Sure she'd made some...
Sure she'd made a great one,
She was beautiful to the core,
She was everything that the
Lonely girl could hope for...
But she lost her.

So she sings alone,
She sings all alone,
Happy birthday,
To herself.
Her words quiver,
Her body shivers,
As the cold and loneliness
Is swept in.

Oh,
Happy birthday.
Happy birthday...
Lonely girl.
Lonely girl...
Happy birthday.
