Does one know what it is to love?
Does one even know what it is to BE loved?
Why is it that people get lust mixed with love?
Love is trust
Love is understanding
Love is that one who knows everything
And it will always be safe with them.
Love is that one who can give you advice
As well as ask for it.
Love is that one who is willing to do what you say
That one who is willing to try it your way
Because they trust you.
Love is that one who knows how to meet
Somewhere in the middle.
That open conversation.
Love is tolerance
Of your attitude
As well as theirs;
And saying, "Baby things will get better"
Love is believing in that person
Even if they swear the sky is red instead of blue
Love is that unbreakable bond
That people just dont have anymore.
Love is saying
"Yea I know you have big ears but it's all mine."
Love is secretly thinking
How cute that person is when they're mad
But all the while trying to keep a straight face
Because they are very serious
And it is important to show a willingness to listen.
Love is saying
"Okay I may not know what to do..
To make you feel better..
But just come here and let me hold you."
Love is being right there by that person
When they are sick and throwing up
Holding back their hair
And a warm rag to help them wash up-
Making them some soup and rubbing their feet.
Love is not being afraid to open up to that person
No matter how painful your past has made it for you to do so..
Love is being able to tell all of you insecurities to that one
Because they have your back
And should/would never use it against you-
If they love you that is.
Love is not just depending on that person to get it done,
But noticing when they need a break
And helping them carry the load.
Love is not being ashamed to let people know you're all in
Love should be invincible
Un-penetrated by ANY bystanders
Wanting to knock you down.
A true love usually has haters
A true love will have inevitable problems
To see if you can endure
A true love will continue knocking on your door
And say "Baby I'm not letting you go,
And I'm gonna stay here until we get it right
Because you are all I want in this world
To share my life with"
If you let that go-
You're not promised a second chance
Or a second shot at REAL love
You better hold on,
If you even get lucky enough to grab a hold of it
To begin with.
