Memory

You're looking at me
like I'm the most amazing thing
you've ever seen
your right hand is running up and down my side
left hand held in my hand
you don't know
but I'm memorizing this moment
the exact shade of green in your eyes
the placement of the brown dot just below your pupil
the feel of your fingers tracing my outline
the moment before your lips touch mine
the way your hand fits in my own
the feeling of wanting to get closer
the tree that hangs overhead and shades us
the yellow sign that you're leaning on
my blue flip flops sitting a few feet away
your blue ripped jeans with the pen drawn smile on the knee
the pressure of your forehead on mine
the smile right before you kiss me again
and again
your words
that slip out between kisses
telling me everything
that I need to know
and now I open my eyes
and it's all gone
and tears are running down my face
I want you back
with me
where you belong
