Lost in reverie

by Mira   Aug 19, 2009

I am lost in reverie;
Traces of your embrace following me,
haunting me in my lonely hours

Where was I before?
Bittersweet memories I had with someone else,
whom I thought could erase you from my life;
I let him go for fear of losing you forever
Was I then a foolish lover?
A selfish one who kept holding on to you?
I cling to my past,
like leaves attached to its flower,
when soon enough they are going to fall,
for a love too flawless won't last.

Silence and tears will greet us in time we meet,
yet these are merely all my imagination;
In truth we are million miles apart,
and time would heal your wounds and loneliness;
A new flower will emerge in your life,
once again colorful and lovely,
while knowing this I will be old and weary in soul,
yet never forget what love meant in the past,
when I was genuinely your only flower.
