Lonely Nights Remind Me

I go to bed each night and dream
Sometimes you are in them
but not as often lately
I wake up and most days I'm fine
Such a distant memory
It's as if you were never even mine
I forget the way we used to be;

But there are those cold, cold nights
Lonely as ever I lay there
Catching a glimpse of your face
Remembering what is was like to be with you
Seeing your face sitting next to me
Looking into each others eyes
back when you were still in love with me;

It sometimes pains my entire body
A pain so severe that is sends a piercing chill through my heart
Makes every part of me ache
and takes my breath away
to remember how it once was
when you were mine and I was yours
oh how remembering can hurt so much;

Such a distant memory
Most days I'm fine
But sometimes those lonely nights remind me
and that's what really gets to me!
