Waving Goodbye

by Max Krakers   Sep 10, 2009

You're waving goodbye,
Soon saying hello.
Right now I might smile,
But I'll miss you so.

I know that it seems,
That life is unfair.
But if you need me,
Then I will be there.

I dream that you're near,
That you're back here with me.
And when I close my eyes,
It's you that I see.

But you're never there,
You remain out of sight.
And I cry in my sleep,
Till I wake up at night.

But know this my dear,
I'll be waiting for you.
And until you come back,
That's all I can do.

The simplest poems are easy reads that linger in the mind and this is one as such I enjoyed it easy meter and simplicity. Worth an excellent 5/5 Ray S
