Regret to Forget

by Daniel Milano   Sep 15, 2009

Standing up straight,
With my hands on my head,
So frustrated,
From what I just said,
I had a fear,
We were falling apart,
I never even meant,
To let it all start,
But my brain had a fight,
Against my own heart.

Couldn't find a reason to break her loose,
My inner war wouldn't stop,
So I didn't have a choice, but to make a truce,
Forgive me for letting the statement drop,
Thought she understood, from so many clues,
But her heart was crushed, Only I was to blame,
Hand me a rope, so I can tie up this noose,
Break ups are common, It's some of the game,
Toss it over the branch, then give me a boost,
Cause all I deserve is a head hung in shame.

Made some mistakes,
I have wasted some years,
But what hurt me the most,
Was seeing her face full of tears.

If I could rewind,
You know that I would,
I would change up my words,
So that it ended up good,
But the past is the past,
It's as good as it gets,
Better to move foward in life,
Than to live with regrets...
