Canoe trip

by Black Heart Still Beating   Sep 26, 2009

As we float along in the still water,
you look over the edge of the canoe,
and see your face,
staring back up at you.

You dive through the reeds,
they part as you make your way.
Though they seem to hiss at you,
as you go on your way.

The birds make the water move,
and the sun rays dance over your head.
The turtles stay on their rocks,
until you get close,
only then they go on their way.

The paddles scare the fish as they dip,
dip
dip
into the water.

The rocks scrape the bottom,
for you weren't watching out for rocks,
you were watching the marvels around you.
The canoe threatens to throw you over.

So you lean the other way.
Its to late,
your in the water with a great big splash.!
So you get back up,
and head on your way

For you know the marvels are done,
for today
