The Perfect Lie - Brokenhearted Lovehandles

by Avrii Monrielle   Sep 27, 2009

I lie awake
and think of you
and all the mistakes I've made
and how I don't have you.

You lie awake
because you keep hearing things
but never my voice,
just creatures of your thinking.

I take a risk,
and invite you to be mine,
but you push me away
like a dateless Valentine's.

You ignore me
because I annoy you
and I can't ignore you
because I can't find the strength to.

How do you apologize
for things you can't erase?
If I had never shown my feelings
would it be better?

I lie and say
it's "okay" when IT ISN'T,
for I'm hoping
you take a risk see what happens.
