Concert Kiss

Our feet are tapping
our heads are nodding
my hand intertwined in yours
your arm around my shoulder
the sound shakes me to the core
I can feel it in my heart
the piano plays a sad song
the guitar strums along
and a girl sings quietly about falling in love
then the song changes
the guitar is in charge
the girl sings louder
I raise my head from your shoulder
try to guess what you're thinking
I see you glance at me from the corner of your eye
I want to say something
but I have no idea what
then suddenly you kiss me
and unlike everytime before
you don't pull away
I kiss you back
the music continues to swell
again you kiss me and again
never stopping
I can only feel the music now
not hear it
my head is off your shoulder and now I'm after you
I want
I want
I want
haven't been kissed like this
in so long
your lips slowly move against mine
and mine follow
though are disorderly
I kiss harder faster
you play along
but as the song slows we are back
to slow and sweet
finally the song stops
applause
we pull away
one look
unsure but safe
I rest my head back on your shoulder
and you rest your head on mine
the music begins again
silly teenage hearts
his beats fast
