You Captured Me With Your Mouth

You Captured Me With Your Mouth

You captured me with your mouth
At first when you spoke
To me and caught me
In your gaze, ablaze with
Fiery eyes that looked and saw
What no-one else had seen

You captured me with your mouth
Later, when you sang and
Plucked the strings of both
Your instrument and my heart,
Became a part of me in
Some strange way

You captured me with your mouth,
Your words, your conversation, animation
Sharing thoughts and dreaming dreams
Brim full of life, teaching me to trust
And trusting, falling into loving,
Laying bare my soul.

You captured me with your mouth
Later still, your kisses melted me
Molten love and yet so solid,
Strong and fierce, piercing me
With softness as a gentle, lovely touch
Bathed in twilight roses
