My city, your ocean.

by emmie   Nov 24, 2009

Run away.
Comfortable in your silent ignorance,
along with the innocence that you left behind.
You shook up this city and took it higher.
You got yours, I got mine.

Slowly stepping.
Emotion rises and perhaps you'll say something,
and you'll feel this city's imperfections.
Your skin entangled in it's pity.
Form fake connection.

You stop.
Your feeling the need to f**king scream now,
and maybe take this whole city on.
But, this city's built on frail sand
The ocean's never gone.

Walk back.
Your ocean has melted all the sand away.
The waves knocked its strength into the debris.
Now it's naked in the water.
A perfect city by the sea.
