Out To Sea

by Alice   Nov 24, 2009

Lightning strike my heart is bound
With it now I hit the ground
Tossed alone and out to drift
The sea is nimble, the sea is swift

Lost amongst the endless sea
Choking now on this debris
Clinging to the raft of past
Losing it all and going fast

I hate to think of what I've lost
With the snow here comes the frost
To cover up and hide the beauty
Of innocence it's nature's duty

Pain I felt when you went away
Tortures me still every day
To realize now I'm out at sea
Without your pleasant company

It tears at me with trough and crest
The chilly water beneath my breast
The waves are taking me forever
Ties with this world will be severed

No longer will I try to hold on
No longer will I sing this song
Conversations now I hear no sound
For my heart is under ground

This world means nothing anymore
I've traded my life I've begun to abhor
The happy people that can touch the land
For me I still can't see the sand

I'm stuck at sea without a raft now
I've let it consume me I've allowed
The pain to float me into the water
My heart now, forever slaughtered
