Punishment

by Richard S   Dec 2, 2009

You sulk and leave the room at night.
I'm asleep when you return.
I leave before you are awake.
We both seem unconcerned.

Issues unresolved will grow.
But we leave them on the side.
We do not speak of things as these.
Confrontation, can't abide.

We seek to punish each of us,
For transgressions we perceive,
And silence for the both of us,
Is punishment conceived.

But we can choose to confront the fact,
That each of us was hurt,
And tell the other how we feel,
And punishment convert.
