Surviving

by Brittany   Jan 1, 2010

My heart is weeping and surrendering,
just this one time.
You have one this fight,
but the battles mine.
I'll untwist what you have twined.

I loved you but Ill mend.
Tell me whose your princess, then?
Can't you see,
what youve done to me?
Youve broke me down,
but I reassemble Strong.
You had me going like a song.

For that I give you my gratitude.
You now need me but I no longer need you.
You should have stayed with me if I was something you treasured.
But I wasnt so now Im going out to go find better.
Dont expect a call,
or even a letter.
Cause Im not like you
I dont keep people dangling like some puppet
or sit around thinking what other screwed up thing I can do.

I'm surviving,
I know what I need
I wont quit trying.

This poem weaves a nice hint of tenacity to it, just what heartbroken people need. I exceptionally loved the line: I'll untwist what you have twined.

Nice poem with firm resolute (:
