Frizzy Hair

by David   Jan 2, 2010

These words are devoted to you
You who have loved and lost
Who have seen true love
Who believe in true love
And who wait, so patiently, for their turn

These words are for you who
So carefully listen, to the mutterings of men
Who fret over hair and makeup until
Its just right for us to see you

Who ignored filthy habits
Who keep our flaws a secret
Who have cut us with words
And have been cut by our own

The women in our lives
Who will shape who we become
Of whom we are not worthy
To whom we feel numb

We thank you! For everything
For drying our tears
Making us feel wanted
Bragging about us to our friends

We thank you for being proud
Of the minor feats we accomplish
Even though we needed your help for them
And you’ve done so much more

Our love and gratitude may be silent
But it is always there
Believe us when we say we love you
You and your frizzy hair.
