Starting Grounds

by David   Jan 2, 2010

My blue eyes had become numb
My skin pale and dead
My heart barely beating
Life hanging by a thread

I didn’t want to be here
I had no will to live
Without anyone to take
I’d lost my gift to give

But you pulled me from the ashes
And gave me a reason to be
A great man. For you- and me

I rise higher and higher
Soaring through the clouds
But never losing sight
Of my starting grounds
